First of all, we at RVN&R have a "Dog in this fight" just to be transparent. One of our Publishers bought a Van in 2015 or 2016 to donate to a Veteran's Homeless Emergency Shelter in Eugene, Oregon, he helped establish in partnership with the VA Hud/Vash Pgm there. It turned out to have a airflow and computer issue, the VA paid $1200 to a Grants Pass vehicle repair shop to fix the vehicle for him. The shop advised what would be needed in long run to keep it usable for several years, and provide buyer all the paperwork at sale. After driving it, the vehicle started having the other issues, so he decided to sell it as he could not afford anymore investment in it himself, and the $1200 from the VA was a one-time grant. Our publisher is a Disabled Vietnam Vet with visual issues and DMV online transfer failed for him and buyer abandoned vehicle without doing his paperwork part.To make a long story short, our publisher called Twedell's when he got the first notice and told them the story. To the best of his recollection, was told not to worry about it as he advised them he was totally disabled and felt they could recover their tow charges by reselling it after lean sale. The just now 6/30/2020 he received another DEMAND FOR PAYMENT OF DEBT!
Our publisher's only income is his service-connected disability checks that can't be garnished. It's likely Twedell's decided to go after him because he received a stimulus check. We find it despicable in that case, and really insensitive during Covid 19 where folks are stressed enough! However, good luck going after his stimulus check ...Oregon Gov. Kate Brown signed an executive order Friday barring debt collectors and creditors from seizing stimulus checks sent to Oregonians under the latest coronavirus relief package.
“Many Oregonians, through no fault of their own, are struggling to pay their bills, their rent, or even buy essentials like groceries and prescription drugs,” Brown said in a prepared statement. “These recovery checks were meant to provide relief, not reward debt collection agencies for preying on Oregonians who have lost their livelihoods due to the COVID-19 pandemic.”It didn't take long to find this business has a very disturbing history of practices that we found online. Over 400 homeless veterans have been housed in in the last 5 years because of our publisher's efforts coordinating and acting as Pgm Director onsite in Eugene. We hope Twedell's are proud of themselves!

My 18yr old daughter totaled my 2000 Volvo S40. The car was fully licensed and insured. The tow yard charged me 3hrs @ $395/hr to retrieve the vehicle. Yet, from the time I received the call, which was about 15min after the accident; to the time it took me to reach the scene was about 35min. The vehicle was already loaded and on it's way to Twedell's (The Sheriff told me). The total tow billed ended up being $1715 of which I paid $1190 cash out of pocket. Twedell's did give me an option. On Friday when the accident happened, they said I could pay $200 and give them the titled and we would call it good. I had 3 days to do this including the weekend. I couldn't find the title so I called DMV on Monday and explained the situation. DMV stated, and I quote, "They are being unreasonable! I can get you a replacement title in 5-10 days." Twedell's wouldn't accept this so I ended up paying the $1190 and signing a bill of sale(As to not be sent to Collections). When I did this on Tuesday I told the tow yard I would like my stereo, the battery, and the tires, they were all purchased within a month of the accident. The employees sent a picture to the front desk, showing these items were gone and had already been taken from my vehicle. Then a couple days later I receive a notice that they are auctioning off the car. The whole 3 day title issue was so they could scrap it! At least that's what they told me. I feel I was way overcharged and this company is dishonest.
Remember, dishonest businesses have friends & family write bogus reviews after bad ones mount up!

The first reviewer below has only 2 reviews, both for Twedell's on yelp, and claims to be from Mexico with only an initial for first name, so we could not find him in a search. That's like a facebook page with no friends...we all know what that means!
